Frame Kits: With so many new designs being created with 3D CAD software, it is a logical step to go directly to a digitally produced 3D part such as a plug or mold. In many cases, however, there is still the need and desire to create these parts manually with battens, sheating and fairing compound. To speed this process along and to ensure a fair surface, we will take your shape, convert it to 3D if necessary, and create a nested set of frames and underpinnings that will be cut on a CNC. These will have reference markings that assist you in setting up the skeletal structure.
5-Axis CNC Plugs Getting to market with a new product must be done as quickly and as effortlessly as possible. There still are projects that make sense to produce by hand methods, however, when you need quick turnaround, high accuracy and perfect symmetry on a prototype model or master pattern, the 5-axis CNC profiling machinery cannot be beat. Janseneering uses a variety of substrates to produce composite plugs and molds. In combination with steel and wood, we use tooling board, fiberglass, foam and high density sprayable putties. The exact combination is tailored to meet the needs of each project. The three 5-axis machines, with different working envelopes, are scheduled to optimize each part that is machined on it. This capacity allows us to work on multiple projects at the same time or to concentrate all efforts on a large project with tight timing and back-to-back parts deliveries. Female and male oriented parts can be fabricated from the same CAD file to ensure accurate mating surfaces.
Short Run Tooling When you want a prototype or only one or two fabricated parts, we will save you time and costs by machining a direct mold, male or female. If this is for a prototype, the fabricated part can be brought to market quickly for concept design approval and market acceptance. Any modifications that may need to be made can be done before the permanent plug is machined, saving costly rework that may compromise the production tooling integrity. Large parts can be fabricated from multipart direct molds that are assembled together to produce a single mold.
Production Tooling Janseneering works with several composites tooling companies to provide you with production tooling. Our collaboration has produced carbon fiber/epoxy tooling as well as polyester tooling. This is done as a sole source project through Janseneering to provide you with a single entity that will handle all your tooling needs.
Composite Parts Janseneering works with several composites fabrication companies to provide you with fabricated parts, using materials and schedules that you provide. We fabricate parts made with fiberglass, Kevlar and carbon fiber in a matrix of polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy using a variety of methods including hand layup, VARTM, RTM-Lite and pre-preg.
5-Axis Large Capacity Aluminum Milling In August of 2008 we brought our newest 5-Axis machine online. With a working envelope of 15'L X 10'W X 6'H, this machine comes with the most current high precision engineering with enough horsepower and rigidity to machine aluminum. With the addition of this machine we are more able to meet the higher tolerance requirements demanded of the automotive and aerospace markets.
