David L. Jansen, P.E.
Janseneering, Inc was founded in 2003 by Dave Jansen, a licensed professional engineer, well known throughout the composites industry. He received his engineering degrees from the University of Wisconsin/Madison in 1978 and 1979. Upon graduation he joined the Boeing Airplane Company, where he was involved with the carbon fiber control surfaces for the new 757 aircraft. He then entered the marine industry where his experience centered around the design and building of boats made of aluminum, steel and composites. Additionally, he has experience in other markets such as recreation, automotive, architecture and transportation. He bought his first 5 axis machine at North End Composites where he was Director of Engineering and instrumental in developing their CNC program. When they made the decision to focus on building their Back Cove Yachts, he bought the machine again, this time for his company. |

Mike McCarty
Mike is the chief CNC programmer/operator at Janseneering. He is a trained machinist and brings a highly experienced and skilled work ethic to the operations. Mike has been intimately involved with our large 5-axis CNC machine for over ten years. He was tethered to it at North End Composites and transported with the machine when it was moved to its current location in Topsham, ME. Mike has a thorough knowledge of the SURFCAM software used to develop machine tool paths and coding. In his previous experience he machined parts as small as hearing aid components, defense department parts and precious metals. |

Steve Dolan
Steve is the guy who keeps the armature building, plug/mold finishing and other shop functions on track. We call him our MacGuyver, who is always questioning Jansen’s sanity and bringing ingenuity to how things are done. Steve is also big into cars, but more so Volkswagons, so we wonder about his priorities. |

Nathan Varney
Nathan pulls the enviable duty as our second shift CNC programmer/operator at Janseneering. He is versed in many aspects of machining. His most recent life was as a technical representative for SURFCAM, our CAD/CAM software. Not only is he proficient with the software, but he also knows a lot about race cars, which makes him fit in with everyone else. He is an avid photographer who has a successful side business doing real estate photography. |
